Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information associated with Milford Residents Directory. The reference has no user account and does not keep government rolls or directory volumes. Search boxes may send what a visitor enters to the third-party provider that powers the results, while ordinary hosting and contact systems may retain technical or message data for the purposes described below.

Data You Send Through a Search

A name, phone number, or address entered into a search widget is transmitted to the third-party service that supplies the results. Milford Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own pages. If you send a message, the information in that message reaches the mailbox used to answer it and may be retained as ordinary correspondence.

Technical Logs and Similar Tools

Hosting providers ordinarily record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregate review of those logs helps identify broken links, security problems, and popular pages. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement. The reference does not use those tools to create a personal account or a named profile.

How Collected Data Is Used

Technical and message information is used to operate the pages, respond to a contact, diagnose errors, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold by the operator, and individual browsing profiles are not intentionally built from ordinary site use.

Links to Government and Outside Services

Pages link to Milford municipal offices, Connecticut portals, courts, libraries, archives, USPS, and third-party search providers. Once a visitor follows one of those links or submits information there, the destination's privacy policy and data practices apply. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company, not by the Milford records custodians described in the reference.

Who May Receive Technical Data

Hosting, security, analytics, and advertising vendors may process the ordinary log information needed to provide their services. A valid legal demand may require disclosure. Outside those service and legal circumstances, the operator does not disclose contact or log data as a visitor list.

Security and Retention

The pages are served over an encrypted connection. Technical logs are retained only for the operational, security, and measurement purposes that require them, subject to hosting and vendor practices. There are no visitor passwords or user profiles stored by Milford Residents Directory.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent contact information, use the Contact page so the operator can review and remove information held in the contact system when appropriate.

Connecticut Privacy Rights

Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, PA 22-15, now codified in Chapter 743jj, CGS Sections 42-515 through 42-526, gives covered consumers rights that can include access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, information about third parties, and opt-out choices for sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. The Attorney General describes a universal opt-out signal effective January 1, 2025. Whether a request applies depends on the controller, data, and statutory exception.

Because the reference keeps very little visitor data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server records. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by the Milford City Clerk, Assessor, Registrar of Voters, courts, libraries, or Connecticut agencies are controlled by those custodians, not by this reference. Requests about those records must go to the office that holds the source record. Connecticut's public-records framework is the Freedom of Information Act, CGS Chapter 14.

Changes to This Policy

A revised policy will be posted at this address with its new effective wording. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to later use. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact route identified above.
