Terms of Use

These terms apply to access and use of Milford Residents Directory. By using the reference or its links, you accept these conditions. If the conditions are not acceptable, do not use the pages or linked search tools.

1. The Reference's Role

Milford Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Milford, Connecticut and New Haven County. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the Milford City Clerk, Assessor, Registrar of Voters, courts, library, Historical Society, or any local, state, or federal custodian.

2. Lawful and Respectful Use

Use the pages and linked resources only for lawful purposes. You may not use information found through them to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person;
  • locate someone protected by a court order or confidentiality program;
  • commit identity theft, fraud, or another offense;
  • make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
  • scrape, copy, or republish the reference at scale; or
  • interfere with page operation, security, or linked service access.

3. No Consumer Reports

Milford Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 1681 et seq. Nothing on the pages, and nothing returned by a linked search provider, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Links

Government portals, libraries, archives, courts, USPS, and sponsored search providers set their own terms, fees, availability, and privacy rules. Milford Residents Directory does not control those outside services and is not responsible for their content, results, outages, or data practices.

5. Information Without Warranty

The reference is provided as is and as available. Coverage dates, office contacts, fees, links, directory holdings, and public-record displays can change. No warranty is made that a detail is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for a particular purpose. Confirm a record with its custodian before relying on it.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of the reference or any linked service, including an action taken from a record or result found through it.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your misuse of the pages, your use of a linked service, or your breach of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by applicable copyright law. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is allowed. Full-page republication, systematic copying, or automated collection is not allowed without permission.

9. Updates to These Terms

New wording may be posted at this address when the reference or its legal conditions change. Continued use after an update means that the revised terms govern later use.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited, with or without notice, when a user violates these terms, abuses a linked service, threatens another person, or creates a security or operational risk.

11. Connecticut Governing Law

These terms are governed by Connecticut law, without applying conflict-of-law principles. Connecticut's public-records framework is the Freedom of Information Act, CGS Chapter 14, including Sections 1-200, 1-210, 1-211, and 1-212. Those statutes govern public agencies and do not turn this private reference into a records custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only as needed, and the remaining terms will continue in effect.

13. Questions About Use

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about a deed, parcel, vital record, voter entry, court file, or directory copy belong with the Milford or Connecticut custodian named on the relevant page.
